Book a Training Course

This Bikeability Level 2 course is aimed at children going into years 7 and 8 who were unable to attend a Bikeability Level 2 course at their primary school. 

Bikeability Level 2 teaches skills for cycling in traffic on quieter roads. Your child will learn how to independently:

•  make good and frequent observations
•  choose and maintain the most suitable riding position in the road
•  communicate intentions clearly to others
•  follow priorities, particularly at junctions

Trainees learn on roads with different traffic conditions but within a risk-assessed area. The course will begin at the Activity Centre where the instructors can assess the trainee’s current level of cycling skills. The training will then progress on to the road. Our Instructors develop road cycling skills through explanation, demonstration and practical exercises on the road, with individual and group feedback.  At the end of the course, each trainee receives a badge, handbook and an assessment certificate. The certificate will help you with the further development of your child’s cycling skills.

This is a seven and a half hour course across three days. Riders must attend all three sessions.

This course will go ahead whatever the weather, so please send your child with appropriate clothing (particularly waterproofs and gloves).

Please ensure your child brings a small rucksack to carry a nut-free snack, a bottle of water and any medication they need.

Travel & Parking
The nearest train station is Bentley where it is a 2 mile ride into Alice Holt. You can park at Alice Holt where normal car parking charges apply.
